Turns out the ‘hard’ button isn’t any better.

I’ve spent the day- since 7am, almost exclusively trying to upgrade this damn software. It’s now 11pm, and I’m going to bed, likely to dream about strangling some developer somewhere.

If you visited during the day and saw chaos, my apologies. At this point, the blog itself should be visible, but I cannot access the Dashboard, which continues to say that a)my password is invalid and b) I don’t have cookies enabled.

It lies. I’ve even created new accounts just to make sure I have the right password, and totally turned off any & all security measures, even though it was already setup to accept cookies.

I’ve tried every workaround I’ve found, none of which have worked. Possibly more troubling than the above is that the interface isn’t even displaying correctly. My error logs say that files aren’t there that clearly are just where they’re supposed to be. *

What it seems to come down to is that the database has gone wonky. People who’ve had problems to this extent have said the only thing that’s worked is wiping out the entire system and starting with a clean install.

I’m entering this directly into the database in the hopes that it’ll show up online and sit there while I move things into a fresh copy of Wordpress, one where we’ll keep much more exclusive plugin company, I assure you.

*Incidentally, pointing to them in your server and saying, “Look! There they are! In the same path you said you need them! Properly lower-case and everything!” Doesn’t do anything. Just FYI. I tried.
