The end of winter…

The very last of the winter blooming camellias is finishing up her run- Pink Perfection. I fell hard for this one at Perinos and paid a fortune for it, so naturally it barely bloomed last year.

This year it’s recovered from transplanting and even came through our unusually cold winter like a champ (if you ignore a little blackspot).

And I concur.

It’s cold. Really cold. Ridiculously cold.

I really don’t want to give you a number, because you’ll only roll your eyes and tell me to stop whining. It’s 35 degrees.

The problem is that it’s 35 EVERYWHERE. New Orleans houses were built to breathe- a nice way of saying that they’re drafty as hell. This morning I got up and it was 28 outside and 47 inside.

It’s supposed to start warming up tomorrow. If it doesn’t, I’m going to have to start hiking further south.
